About the project
Scottish Ministers granted Windy Standard III consent in March 2021. This comprises the northern Meaul Hill Cluster with 12 x 177.5m turbines and the southern Waterhead Hill cluster with 8 x 125m turbines.
The project is progressing well towards construction, and we are working to discharge our planning conditions. To ensure that the site can be delivered efficiently and can achieve the greatest capacity, we have applied to the Scottish Government to vary the consent – proposing to increase the tip height of the 12 turbines in the northern Meaul Hill Cluster to 180m to tip. This allows us to bring forward the site using readily available turbine technology.
