Fred. Olsen Renewables welcomes Sofie Olsen Jebsen as its new CEO. She succeeds Ivar Brandvold following his planned retirement as CEO, after which he will continue as special advisor.
Fred. Olsen Renewables is proud to announce the appointment of Sofie Olsen Jebsen as its new Chief Executive Officer. Ivar Brandvold will continue as special advisor. The Board has for some time worked with how to best position the company for the future, including identifying Ivar Brandvold’s successor. Sofie has worked 10 years within renewable energy in various Fred. Olsen-related companies and roles, lastly as CEO of the technology and innovation company Fred. Olsen 1848. Sofie brings a strong track record in business development and project management. Prior to joining Fred. Olsen & Co in 2014, Sofie worked as Senior Consultant for Deloitte Consulting. She has been a Board Member of the Norwegian Shipowners' Association since 2020.
Fred. Olsen Renewables is a developer, owner, and operator within renewable energy with history back to the mid-1990s. The company is operating 12 wind farms with more than 300 wind turbines in Scotland, Norway and Sweden. Fred. Olsen Renewables has an installed capacity of approximately 800 MW and a portfolio of 4,6 GW in different stages of development in Norway, Sweden, UK and Italy. The company has a strong commitment towards developing renewable energy sources both as a sound business model and as a genuine supporter towards the shift to a decarbonized society.

Fred. Olsen Renewables has enjoyed a strong growth over the last three decades. The company has developed an efficient project execution model in close collaboration with key vendors and stakeholders within the renewables sphere and has since 2015 entered into three joint ventures with financial investors to enhance further growth of the company. This change of CEO will ensure the continued development of these relationships.
