- To sign up visit, Rothes open day
Local residents are being encouraged to sign up and take part in a family day at Rothes Wind Farm on the 1st and 2nd June. Visitors of all ages are invited to come along and take part in free activities, including a magical, and educational, tour of the wind farm site, and an introduction to bee hives and honey from local company, Triskele Honey.
The turbines have been turning at Rothes Wind Farm for almost twenty years and, to celebrate, Fred. Olsen Renewables is inviting members of the public to visit the site and take part in a fun-filled day. Anyone with an interest in attending is being encouraged to sign up now to avoid disappointment.
Attendees will be picked up at their selected pick-up point of Rothes, Elgin or Dallas, where they will join their hosts on the coach and be transported to the wind farm. Everyone that attends will be able to take part in a treasure hunt tour of the wind farm accompanied by special guests, before retiring for a complimentary lunch and refreshments in a marquee – overlooking the turbines.
After lunch there will be an opportunity for children, and adults, to get crafty, or to relax and enjoy a demonstration and tasting from Triskele Honey. Throughout the day, the Fred. Olsen Renewables team will be on hand to answer questions on renewable energy and tell the story of Rothes Wind Farm.
The events are taking place on:
Saturday 1st June – 10:30am – 3:30pm
Sunday 2nd June – 10:30am – 3:30pm
Limited spaces are available and can be booked here Rothes open day
Kirsty Leiper, Head of Communications at Fred. Olsen Renewables commented:
“We are really excited to welcome local residents to Rothes Wind Farm. Our family fun day is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get a close-up view of the turbines and take the time to learn a bit more about renewable energy while taking part in some fun, free, activities.
“The family fun day is a great opportunity for us to spend time with local residents and get to know the communities that are closest to our wind farm even more. We hope that everyone will have the opportunity to attend, and we look forward to seeing you there.”
