Fred. Olsen Renewables Ltd are currently investigating the potential to develop Lethen Wind Farm, on the Lethen Estate approximately 10 km north-west of Grantown-on-Spey

The proposed development, of up to 20 turbines, is in the Scoping stage of the planning process. The Highlands Council Pre Application Service was used to gain early indications of their and other statutory stakeholders views on the project and to provide clarity about the information needed for later stages of the planning process, including this Scoping Report and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report. The Scoping report provides the opportunity for further and wider consultation on the project, including with Community Councils close to the development. This consultation will also help inform the EIA Report as the project progresses through the planning process.

The Scoping Report for the project was submitted in January 2021 and is published here, you will also be able to find further updates about the Development here as the project progresses.

If you have any queries about the development please email communities@fredolsen.co.uk

Community Benefit

Fred. Olsen Renewables are committed to sharing the benefits of their operational wind farms with local communities. One way they do this is through community benefit funds.

The existing operational Rothes and Paul’s Hill Wind Farms Community Benefit Funds have already made available nearly £1.7 million to communities in the Moray Council area.

The funds are administered by local organisations for the benefit of the local community and can be used to benefit the local environment, amenities or tourism.
