Fred. Olsen Renewables Ltd is exploring the potential to develop Lethen Wind Farm, on the Lethen Estate, approximately 10km north-west of Grantown-on-Spey.
The proposed development consists of up to 20 turbines, 185m in height (to blade tip) and site infrastructure including; roads, substation and wind monitoring mast. The project is in the early stages of the development process, which provides the opportunity for further and wider consultation with Community Councils, key stakeholders and local residents close to the development.
The feedback we receive throughout the consultation process, alongside the results of the technical assessments, will inform the design, the EIA Report and allow us to develop a design and further detail on turbine size, number and layout.
We are holding a virtual and interactive web-based consultation.
Live and interactive chat events took place on:
26th April – 5pm – 7pm
29th April – 5pm – 7pm
The exhibition can still be accessed here
If you were unable to attend the virtual chat, we would very much welcome the opportunity to:
- Set up a discussion. Text/call 07435 763 900 to set up a discussion. The team can be on hand to discuss the plans with you, and this includes after 5pm.

Lethen Wind Farm is anticipated to deliver a community benefit fund of over £15m throughout the lifespan of the project. We will work with the local communities and help them to explore local needs and identify how the community benefit can help to address local challenges, such as reducing energy consumption, improving connectivity and addressing fuel poverty.
Our supply chain requirements provide huge economic opportunities for local businesses and there are significant employment opportunities in the construction period alone.
