Fred. Olsen Renewables has an overall aim to be a leading developer, owner and operator in the rapidly expanding global offshore wind energy sector
In recent years Fred. Olsen Renewables has put increased focus on offshore wind energy and scaled up the efforts significantly, as a result, we are working in several markets, both individually and in partnership with other leading offshore wind developers, as well as investigating a range of new market opportunities.
One of the key projects in our portfolio is the Codling Wind Park. This is set to be Ireland’s largest offshore wind farm and a major contributor to Ireland’s target of 5GW offshore wind energy by 2030. The project is developed in a Joint Venture with EDF Renewables.
In Norway we have entered into a long term partnership with Ørsted and Hafslund Eco. This also includes the upcoming application round for offshore wind areas in Norway on Sørlige Nordsjø II and Utsira Nord. The consortium aims to deliver both bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind energy while developing the Norwegian supply chain for the expected large-scale build-out of offshore wind in Norway and in Europe.
Utilising our extensive experience in Scotland gained through the development, construction and operation of onshore wind, we are seeking to develop offshore wind projects. For Scotland's offshore wind leasing round "ScotWind", we have entered into a partnership with Vattenfall. This Joint Venture brings together two companies with strong track records in Scotland. Through our partnership we will provide opportunities and create maximum value for the Scottish economy, local suppliers and communities.
In addition to the selected key markets above, we are also investigating and looking at opportunities in other markets.
Working with the Fred. Olsen related companies that are already global leaders in the provision of services and supply chain expertise to the offshore wind energy sector, we are in a unique position to bring forward large scale offshore wind developments that deliver significant economic, societal and environmental benefits.
This pioneering spirit and technological innovation, based on in-depth knowledge, experience, track record and synergies across the related companies continue to drive our position in our home markets and our interest and ambitions in new markets.
With cradle to grave in-house capabilities combined with service and supply chain experience and our history of developing new concepts, we will continue to drive technological innovation and cost reductions as leading offshore industry players.
