Fred. Olsen Renewables was delighted to be the main sponsor of the Cairngorm to Coast with Outfit Moray Event

On the 25th of May 2019 Fred. Olsen Renewables was delighted to be the main sponsor of the Cairngorm to Coast with Outfit Moray Event.

Cairngorm to Coast (aka C2C) is a 100km hike and bike challenge that takes place against the backdrop of the magnificent Cairngorm National Park and along the beautiful scenery of the Dava Way. The event is split 30km/70km taking in the heights of the Highlands to the coast of Moray, making it one of the country’s most stunning duathlon event. The event raised vital funds for Outfit Moray, an outdoor learning and adventure charity which supports vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in Moray.

Outfit Moray have said that “Cairngorm to Coast 2019 was huge success, despite miserable weather later inthe day. Forty seven participants set off from the Cairngorm Ski Centre Carpark to embark on the event’s 30km hike or bike to Grantown on Spey, with forty four of those continuing on bike for the remaining 70 km to Lossiemouth. Everyone enjoyed their journey through the stunning Cairngorm National Park, taking in the sights of Glenmore, the magical An Lochan Uaine (The Green Loch) and the popular Ryvon Both along the way. Once at Grantown, they were treated to some pasta and the option of a massage before heading up the Dava Way, taking in the delights of the Moray countryside and spurred on with the promise of a massage, good beer and food at the Windswept Brewing Tap Room finish line.  Everyone crossed the line soaking wet and covered in mud, but with a huge grin on their face, saying how much they enjoyed their day. This year’s event is set to raise around £6,000 for Lossiemouth youth charity, Outfit Moray, to help support their work providing life-changing outdoor adventure opportunities such as rock climbing, kayaking and abseiling for youngsters across the region. Next year’s event takes place on 24th May.”

Olsen Renewables was able to sponsor this year’s Cairngorm to Coast event in aid of Outfit Moray. We have been working at our Moray-based wind farms at Rothes and Paul’s Hill so we have been aware of the amazing work that Outfit Moray does for young people and their families in the area. As a business, we are passionate about the great outdoors and feel that everyone should have the opportunity to experience it for themselves. We hope that by sponsoring this event, we can help the team at Outfit Moray continue to provide opportunities and respite to deserving families in the years to come”
